BURNEX PROJECT à la Galerie Le Toit du Monde – Paris – France

Après la mise en place de THE ARTIST’S STUDIO – VENICE et l’organisation d’actions pédagogiques par l’équipe de ICINE en partenariat avec les Ministères italiens de l’éducation et de la culture, 

lCI International Cultural Institute est heureux de vous annoncer l’exposition BURNEX PROJECT de l’artiste BURNEX, à la Galerie “Le toit du monde”  – 6, rue Visconti 75006 Paris du 17 au 26 juin 2021 de 13h à 19h et sur RDV ( contact@letoitdumonde.net –  01.43.54.27.05). 

Le vernissage aura lieu le jeudi 17 juin 2021 de 17h à 21h. 

Réalisée en collaboration avec François PANNIER de l’Association pour le Rayonnement des Cultures Himalayennes (A.R.C.H.) partenaire d’ICI VENICE, l’exposition s’inscrit dans le cadre d’un nouveau cycle de manifestations de la galerie  :  « Place aux jeunes ! ». 

BURNEX, artiste parisien, en résidence à ICI CASA – ART HOUSE – Murano, Venise (Italie) du 15 au 22 août 2019, a participé à l’exposition collective « ++ Friends exhibition » au « Spazio Thetis » – Arsenal, Venise (Italie) du 27 septembre – 29 novembre 2019. A partir d’août 2021, il sera l’artiste de THE ARTIST’S STUDIO – VENICE.

A travers le monde, A travers le temps, le masque est présent.

Dans toutes les cultures des Mayas à l’Himalaya.

Des rituels aux carnavals païens.

De l’art ethnographique à l’art contemporain.

Ces images, ces formes sont parties d’un inconscient collectif qui prend forme et sens à toutes époques. 

Des masques réalisés en Himalaya peuvent être confondus avec des masques africains par l’œil néophyte tant ils partagent les mêmes codes, le même logiciel, le même esprit et le même usage.

Les univers se rencontrent : Burnex, artiste de 17 ans, a été présenté à François Pannier, collectionneur – galeriste – chercheur spécialiste de l’art himalayen. Lors de la conversation des parallèles se forment. Cette sculpture visage réalisée dans une poêle par le jeune parisien aurait pu être réalisée sur le toit du monde comme une des œuvres népalaises réalisée dans un couvercle de casserole, présentée à la fondation Bernard et Caroline de Watteville à Martigny – Suisse.

Pour ce solo show en dialogue avec les œuvres de la galerie Le toit du monde, Burnex approfondit ce champs de nos inconscients collectifs à travers des sculptures en métal ou céramique, des dessins ou peintures.

BURNEX

Impregnated by the mentors of contemporary French Urban Art – Jacques Villéglé and Ernest Pignon-Ernest – and street art culture, Burnex has created its own universe at the turn of the streets of Paris. The discovery of stickers collected by Jacques Villéglé was one of the triggers to invest the public space.

Transforming the street as a place of expression and interaction, his collages and his actions are « reversible » with a stroke of karcher without damaging the walls. One of his actions is to return advertising posters posed in wild and illegal ways by major fashion brands and to stick them backside to have a white support on which he intervenes in Indian ink.

Student at Ecole Boulle (french school of art) – Paris – France, despite the economy of means related to his age (15 years), he organizes the construction of his various projects as a confirmed artist thinks for a gallery.

His forms, objects and characters interact with commercials, playing with the codes of the modern and urban arts. Thus, he was very quickly identified by the specialists and street art hunter.

In 2019, he has been invited in Venice for a commission in a private property and a collective show at Spazio Thetis – Arsenal. For this group show, he has produced two works. Golden Mask is a large size (3m x 3m) yellow banana colored flag on which a black mask stands out. The flag floats on a 16th century listed wall creating a new relationship between the wall and the steet art: touched /untouched, fixed / unattached. Occhi d’Oro revisits in a contemporary way the

tradition of Venetian gold leaf. Where usually a street artist seeks maximum visibility, this work takes the opposite foot by blending into the site. It watches the visitors entering Spazio Thetis …. Will they have seen it ?

Back in Paris – France, Burnex continues to amaze both social networks and the urban space fed by this Venetian experience and also got new opportunities and private commissions.

In 2020, just at the end of the french lockdown, as some of his private commissions were postponed, he launched a pop up gallery to show his work and the sculptures done with another young artist TAL. 

He is producing only few works after a long time of reflections, drawing in his scrap book or experiences in the street. His experience in Venice comforts his ability to create up to large scale.

At the present time, he is working on the shape, the interaction between shapes and shapes as a language. These shapes are both from everyday life, main stream from social or tv but also from historic references. 

He works can be seen in private collections in France, Italy and spain.
